America's Best Dance Crew Season 5: Episode 6 Recap
by Danae Young

Last week on America’s Best Dance Crew, the crews were given the Lady Gaga challenge!

No one got eliminated due to a voting error from the week before. But next week, TWO crews go home!

Static Noyze was up first performing to “Beautiful, Dirty, Rich” by Lady Gaga. Omarion thought it started off slow but they kept the energy. JC Chasez said they looked interesting and gave drama. Lil Mama thought they worked the props well and loved the performance.

Blueprint Cru performed to “Bad Romance.” JC Chasez said it was the best performance of Season 5. Lil Mama said they are very dedicated. Omarion was nearly speechless.

Jungle Boogie performed to “Video Phone” by Lady Gaga featuring Beyonce. Lil Mama said they are hard workers as a group. Omarion said they are a dope crew but noticed one of the crew members looked a little lost on stage. JC Chasez said overall it was pretty good.

Heavy Impact performed to “Love Game.” JC Chasez thought it was surprisingly athletic but didn’t love it. Lil Mama said they took it to another level as far as their “swag.” Omarion likes that they always stick to their strong parts.

Hype 5-0 performed to “Poker Face.” Omarion thought the choreography was great but said it could’ve had more energy. JC Chasez thought the opening was great but wants to see something new. Lil Mama said they need to take it to the next level.

Poreotix peformed to “Paparazzi.” JC Chasez thought the choreography in the middle was a little boring. Omarion said they performed with confidence. Lil Mama said they had interesting transitions and thought the performance was very fun.

Saltare really had to perform at their best after the mess-ups they had last week. They performed to “Just Dance.” Lil Mama said they came out with power but thought they needed to loosen up when dancing without the ropes. JC Chasez said when they grab their ropes they can do what no one else can. Omarion said they are really stepping up to the plate.

The judges got in a huddle to discuss which group they would choose to give immunity for this week’s episode. They chose Blueprint Cru!

Watch all new episodes of America’s Best Dance Crew on Thursday nights at 10/9c on MTV.

Omarion Speaks on Clean Energy Education
February 26th, 2010

Here’s an op-ed piece Omarion wrote on the importance of Clean Energy Education for the urban community.

Young people in America today have a right to be upset. A lot of people just out of high school or college are wondering about their futures when jobs are so hard to find. But in a time when our country has so many problems that appear unsolvable, we do have a solution that can make our communities more prosperous. We can take control of our energy future.

For decades, we’ve been spending hundreds of billions of dollars to buy oil from overseas. Outdated factories and dirty power plants are polluting our neighborhoods. Gasoline and electricity prices have skyrocketed. And all the while, big corporations and their lobbyists have fought against any changes to the current state of affairs.

But the good news is that the situation is not hopeless. We can make investments in clean energy that will reduce pollution, revitalize our neighborhoods and create new jobs.

For the young Americans who might listen to my music or watch my films, I hope I can convince you that it’s time to get engaged. For African Americans and other people of color, I hope you can support the clean energy solutions that will make our communities more prosperous. This isn’t the time to surrender to feelings of hopelessness and despair. It’s time to tell our friends, neighbors and elected officials why clean energy is good for our communities and our country.

Omarion: The Business, The Music, The Growth
By Joyce Farley
Tuesday, February 16, 2010

It must be an Ollusion, singer Omarion has grown before us bringing hits and dance moves that are imitiated in clubs and dance competitions. He has moved from the cloud of former boy band member to successful artist, dancer, writer and until recently judge on America’s Best Dance Crew (ABDC).

His latest album Ollusion dropped January 12 and he says this is his best work. “Up until my last solo album it was a kind of a struggle between the label and myself because they envisioned me one way and I envisioned myself the other way,” he tells AllHipHop.com. “Musically, I have pretty good songs, the influence on the album has been in two parts, and this work on my third solo project is completely me.” He is moving forward, continuing to work harder, and bringing a “won’t stop…can’t stop” attitude along the way.

AllHipHop.com: The tracks that caught my ear off your new album were Kinkos, What Do You Say and Wet--where are you taking the fans next with songs such as these?

Omarion: Well, really those creative concepts, like Wet and those others you named are directed at my fans like Icebox, these little titles are interesting which people could say hmm—I wonder what that is about.

AllHipHop.com: In the album credits you wrote and co-produced the album, how does it feel to have such artistic liberties and freedoms?

Omarion: It feels like a new pair of shoes. Like a new pair of Jordan’s, something classic like Jordan IV’s brand-new out the box. You really don’t want to get too close to anybody, because you don’t want them to step on your shoes. I am super happy. I am excited because, Omarion will forever stay around and will forever grow as an artist.

Omarion Cites Spirtual Reasons For Not Celebrating Valentine’s Day
Friday, February 12, 2010 3:17 PM
By Chris Richburg and Joyce Farley

(AllHipHop News) As thoughts turn to flowers, chocolates, balloons, cards and romance with someone special for many people this weekend, Valentine’s Day will be just another day in the life for Omarion.

The former B2K frontman, whose music may supply the soundtrack for lovers on Sunday (Feb. 14), revealed that the special day of love is not on his radar. According to Omarion, holidays in general are not observed at all by him.

“I actually don’t celebrate any of the holidays,” said the singer/actor, who cited “spiritual reasons” for his refusal to acknowledge the special days of the year. “..it’s more a spiritual thing. I have to go with my conscience. I just decided not involve myself in Pagan holidays.”

Omarion’s views echo many who list Valentine’s Day, along with Christmas and Easter, as a holiday with pagan roots.

'America's Best Dance Crew': The East regionals bring a blueprint for winning
February 5, 2010 | 8:11 am

Last season, the East regionals produced one of the most talented crews to ever grace the stage of "Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew" with Rhythm City. Can it happen again with the five crews competing for the national show? Well, the two crews from Massachusetts, one from North Carolina, one from Rhode Island and one from Montreal definitely put forth the effort. What, no New York? We'll go with what we got.

Straight out of Boston, Legendary Seven contained two members from Season 1 runner-up Status Quo, but this was not the crazy, colorful crew that SQ was. The group was better, much cleaner, and though it was there (a backflip, landing on the knees? Nice!), the group was not as reliant on acrobatics. Legendary Seven's lines weren't as clean as they should have been, but they were definitely together. Choice judge cuts:

Omarion: "Wow. That's how you're supposed to perform... Explosiveness."
Lil Mama: "It's nothing better than seeing a crew come back and transform themselves."
JC Chasez: "You guys didn't waste any time ... It's nice to see your enthusiasm. You showed us Status Quo, but a whole new side... I think that you guys are humble and showed a great attitude."

The Providence, R.I., group draZtik -- they yelled it so that we wouldn't forget -- gave us another clean, triangle formation body wave crew. Definitely good, definitely practiced, but there needed to be a little bit more. Whether it was energy, better lines, more creative choreography ... something was lacking. And the judges seemed to sense that.

Lil Mama: "You can tell that this is a group that's been together for a while... I don't know if you need to get a little bit more wild and crazy."
JC: "It was a tight, clean choreographed routine. But there was nothing memorable... You need to find something else in the music."
Omarion: "In the beginning you stayed in the center too long... The pirouette was a little too cutesy."

Montreal reps in "ABDC" with Blueprint Cru. Like draZtik, the group came out with the triangle formation as well but then switched it up. After watching draZtik perform, and then Blueprint Cru, it's clear that that extra something may separate crews with similar styles. Blueprint Cru's music was a bit different, their formations had layers and their transitions had more movement and life.

JC: "I was really, really feeling it. Honestly, that summed up what we were trying to say [Drastic] needed. It's about finding that one little thing that made it different... I liked how you experimented with the musical styles."
Omarion: "I felt like in the beginning, the girls were giving me everything. I forgot that the guys were there... Guys have to step it up."
Lil Mama: "The word that I was looking for earlier was dimension, and you guys definitely brought that out. I can't wait to see you guys grow and give us more."

Cougar Crush: Omarion Is Hot For Halle
By Jawn Murray

Now that cougars are all the rage, 25-year-old singer Omarion has a cougar crush of his own.

BV Buzz asked the singer what older woman had his eye and he chose Oscar winner Halle Berry.

"It would definitely be Halle Berry," the singer confessed. "I think it would even be interesting to sit down and talk to her about her views about relationships."

The former B2K singer said he's attracted to the 43-year-old beauty because "she seems like such a woman in control."

"I don't know if it's so much control that she wouldn't allow a man to be a man," he clarified. "I wouldn't say I'm bossy," Omarion said, "but a lot of being a man is being stern and to be like, 'I want you to do this.' I don't know if she would be like, 'I'm not doing this. I'm gonna do what I wanna do' or be submissive. I don't know if I would be like, 'Baby, can you make me a sandwich?' and she'd be like, 'No!'"

Omarion, who was just joined MTV's 'America's Best Dance Crew' as a new judge, recently released his third solo CD 'Ollusion.'

OMARION REPLACES SHANE SPARKS ON AMERICA'S BEST DANCE CREW! ++

Omarion: JC & I will settle our fights on the 'ABDC' stage
By Jarett Wieselman

When some legal messiness left "America's Best Dance Crew" one judge short for their fifth season, fans wondered who was real enough, raw enough and experienced enough to fill Shane Sparks' chair. Enter Omarion. Although he's just 25 years old, Omarion has been singing and dancing for over a decade -- so his addition made total sense.

What didn't was his super laid back attitude in the first episode. I wondering if someone slipped a handful of Xanax into his Coke cup. But as it turns out Omarion isn't apathetic to the crews battling on stage, he was simply waiting to be wowed. Luckily Omarion got exactly what he wanted ... in tonight's episode.

PopWrap: How did you come to fill the third judges chair?

Omarion: I'd been in talks to do something with "ABDC" for a long time. Dancing is a strong ability of mine so I've always wanted to come onto the show in a creative way. This opportunity permitted that. I feel honored and blessed for the chance, but also, coming on to the fifth season changes up the feeling of the show.

PW: Shane Sparks had to bow out because of legal problems, are you two friendly?

Omarion: Shane is a really good friend of mine. He was actually the one I was talking to about coming on the show.

PW: Did you ask for his blessing before accepting the gig?

Omarion: I haven't spoken with him, Shane's really focused on what he's dealing with right now. But he was a great judge and very loved by the fans. I think he's happy for me.

Omarion on Joining 'Dance Crew': "I'm Sexier Than Simon" Cowell
By Anna Dimond

'America's Best Dance Crew' returns to MTV tonight at 10PM ET with dance crews from every corner of the country ready to throw down their moves and make their marks in the competition. High-energy and swelling with catchy beats, the show is kicking off its fifth season of pitting groups of young, hip-hop influenced dancers against each other for the top honors (and a cash prize).

This season, R&B wunderkind Omarion is joining 'ABDC' as a judge. He's replacing choreographer Shane Sparks, who in December was arrested on felony charges of child molestation. Sparks served as a judge on 'ABDC' alongside Lil' Mama and former *NSYNC member JC Chasez since the series launched in 2008.

Omarion, who worked with Sparks on the 2004 dance movie 'You Got Served,' spoke to AOL TV about stepping into Sparks' role, what drew him to 'ABDC' in the midst of a busy career in music and film and how his judging style is similar to that of 'American Idol''s resident heavy, Simon Cowell.

You taped your first show, the season premiere, on Tuesday. What was it like?

It was a great night. There was lots of energy ... I'm really ready to get into it, and I'm ready to see the crews. [In regionals], we were checking out what some of the crews were bringing to the table. It should be a great season.

This is your first time as a judge on a major show. How is the experience so far?

For me, I've only judged [smaller] contests, this is totally different. I want to see how people receive it, because I think I'm the tougher judge. JC [Chasez] has been on it for a long time, and Lil' Mama's been on it for a long time, their judging is going to be what it has been. But for me, I have a totally different eye, in reference to what 'America's Best Dance Crew' is.

Mario Lopez Raves About New 'America's Best Dance Crew' Judge Omarion

'I think it's our best season yet,' Lopez tells Ellen DeGeneres of fifth season, which premieres tonight.
By Jocelyn Vera

The new season of "America's Best Dance Crew" is about to kick off Thursday night (January 28), and host Mario Lopez stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to talk about what fans should expect.

"We're going into our fifth season. I'm really excited about it, 'cause I think it's our best season yet," he said in a chat with the talk-show host. "I know a lot of people say that all the time, but we're doing extra episodes, and we really broke it down region by region and giving each region its own episode. We have a new judge, Omarion. He's doing a great job ... so it's going to be fun."

Omarion is filling in for original judge Shane Sparks, who was arrested in December and charged with eight counts of felony child molestation. He is currently awaiting trial.

In addition to kicking off the new season of "ABDC," Lopez will also host the "Miss America" pageant this weekend, and he's looking forward to it — except having to dance alongside the female contestants. "They always throw me in the opening number," he laughed. "So that's kind of tough."

With his hosting gigs for "Extra" and "America's Best Dance Crew," Lopez is also thinking about tackling a cameo on "Glee." Although he didn't have any specifics about potential guest-starring roles, he's all for the idea. "We're trying to figure out what character I'll do," he told Ellen.

OMARION TALKS MICHAEL JACKSON GRAMMY TRIBUTE WITH VIBE! ++

Omarion Hopes Grammys ‘Bring It’ With MJ Tribute
By Clover Hope

Since Michael Jackson’s death last June, networks like BET and MTV have paid tribute to the King of Pop at their award shows. The Grammys will follow suit, with a planned 3D video and performances by Usher and Jennifer Hudson, among others. For the Jan. 31 broadcast, Omarion hopes they pull out all the stops for the man who changed music.

The R&B singer tells VIBE that a tribute without himself, however, wouldn’t be the same. “If I’m not a part of that, then that’s not… I’m not gonna say it’s wack,” he says. “But I’m just saying, everyone knows what I do, so if you gon’ have an MJ tribute…”

Still, a lighthearted O, who recently released his solo album Ollusion, acknowledged that since so many artists were influenced by MJ, the options are plenty. “I take that back because Stevie [Wonder] did an MJ tribute. Everyone loved Michael. I’m not gon' say that,” he says. “I’m just meaning the performance [aspect]. How you gon’ have a Michael tribute without the playboy? [Laughs]. That’s my only thing, and I mean this in the humblest and the most competitive way. I’m competitive — that’s what the game is about.

“Especially after Mike passed away, I feel like the stage, it’s more important now. It’s a responsibility to me when I hit the stage to not play with it,” O continued. “If you walk back and forth that’s cool, too. If that’s how you entertain, that’s cool, but for the performances and for the dances and for the people that look up to Michael in the fashion I look up to Michael? I hope they bring it. Because if they don’t, then I will.”

Omarion thinks the music industry as a whole could benefit from more artists taking risks. “I just want people to elevate and go to the next level,” he says. “I think a lot of my peers are safe and I haven’t seen a performance yet that has [kept] my eyes glued to the TV. With certain artists you know what you’re gonna get. That’s what I wanna bring back to the game.”

MTV UNVEILS NEW TALENT FOR "RANDY JACKSON PRESENTS AMERICA'S BEST DANCE CREW" AND "TAKING THE STAGE"

The Country's Most Gifted Dance Crews and Arts Students Revealed When Season Five of "America's Best Dance Crew" and Season Two of "Taking the Stage" Premiere Back to Back Thursday, January 28, at 10p.m. ET/PT and 11p.m. ET /PT

NEW YORK (January 26, 2010) - MTV will introduce viewers to the nation's best and brightest rising performers when its hit music- and dance-driven reality series "Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew" and "Taking the Stage" premiere back to back on Thursday, January 28th. At 10p.m. ET/PT, the Season Five premiere of "America's Best Dance Crew" will kick-off a three-episode arc with 15 all-new crews competing in regional finals for the chance at one of the nine coveted spots on the Season Five roster. At 11p.m. ET/PT, Season Two of "Taking the Stage" will feature returning cast members Tyler Nelson and Mia Carruthers alongside a new cast of students at one of the country's most prestigious arts schools - Cincinnati's School For the Creative and Performing Arts.

"AMERICA 'S BEST DANCE CREW"

Season Five of " America 's Best Dance Crew," MTV's top-ranking cable program among P12-34, from Warner Horizon Television and executive produced by Randy Jackson, will feature more of the jaw-dropping dance moves and stunts viewers have come to love. Following the groundbreaking Season Four win of We Are Heroes - the first all-female crew to claim the top spot - the January 28th premiere will kick off a three-episode regional battle as five crews from the South compete in a "Judge's Choice" competition. The second episode will feature five crews from the East and the regional arc will conclude in the third episode with five competing crews from the West. Show judges JC Chasez, Lil Mama and Omarion will eliminate two crews in each of these first few episodes and send the remaining three on to contend for the $100,000 cash prize and the title of "America's Best Dance Crew" as part of the final nine Season Five crews to participate.

The Season Five crews of " America 's Best Dance Crew" are:

The South ("ABDC Regional Finals: The South" Airs Thursday, January 28th)

Ghost (Houston, TX): Ghost is a crew that has faced a lot of adversity in life and dance has always been their refuge. In fact, they all met through their local dance venues over the past five years seeking a way out life's hardships, gangs and family death. The crew would break into a local apartment complex gym room just so they could practice dance. They consider their style inspirational hip-hop and they plan to offer up some of the best musicality "ABDC" has ever seen with hard hitting, complex movements. As dancers they are a tight unit and their personal hardships have brought them even closer together.

Jungle Boogie (Stone Mountain, GA): These dancers pride themselves on their southern "Cranking" style and are on a mission to become kings of the dance jungle. "Cranking" uses big step movements and arms to cover the entire dance floor and each of the six members has a unique animalistic move to wow this year's competition.

Royal Flush (Atlanta, GA): This crew has auditioned every season and their refusal to give up has finally paid off. Changing members after each audition, the crew believes it finally has the dream team it needs for success. Educated on the streets, this diverse crew's styles include krumping, tutting, popping, breaking and even a hint of salsa. They do not claim to be "professionally trained dancers," leading to difficulties in finding work in the dance industry. "ABDC" is finally offering them something no one else would: the opportunity to be champions.

Swagger Crew (Atlanta, GA): Tired of trendy club dances, this brash Atlanta crew feels its time to put true Southern street dancing on the map. These confident dancers are fired up by the complete absence of Atlanta crews represented on past seasons of "ABDC" and know they have what it takes to put Atlanta on the map. With a combination of southern cockiness, fast footwork and determination this crew is ready to bring some raw swagger to the "ABDC" legacy.

X-treme Motion (Houston, TX): These former Texas Southern University majorettes are bringing their bootylicious bucking style to the mainstream stage. These high energy, acrobatic and stunt-filled Southern belles are on a mission to show the world their majorette style of dance is "often imitated but never duplicated." Their style is influenced by both street jazz and hip-hop, but what really makes them distinct is an intense booty-shaking move they call "Buckin'."

NEW YORK (January 21, 2010) Hot crews and high school phenoms will make room for one of the music industry's reigning triple threats when R&B superstar Omarion takes his seat at the judges' table for Season Five of Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew. Premiering Thursday, January 28th at 10p.m. ET/PT and airing back to back with Season Two of Taking The Stage at 11p.m. ET/PT (premiere episode sneak peek airs Saturday, January 23rd at 9p.m. ET/PT), the hit dance competition series from Warner Horizon Television will feature the accomplished Grammy-nominated singer, actor and dancer as he guides another roster of the nation's most talented dance crews towards their goal of a $100,000 cash prize and the title of America's Best Dance Crew.

Omarion is one of the most accomplished, multi-talented young stars of his generation. His music and music videos have influenced hip-hop dance going back to his B2k days and in more recent years as a platinum-selling solo artist, said Liz Gateley, Senior Vice President of Series Development for MTV. He is an accomplished dancer, artist and actor who knows what makes a good dance crew performance. We are very excited for him to join Lil Mama and JC Chasez as our third judge.

Omarion is a great friend and I am looking forward to him joining the ABDC family, said Randy Jackson, executive producer of America's Best Dance Crew. Season Five is going to be blazing hot.

I'm so excited to be a judge on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew', says Omarion. Dancing and performing is what I do and being a judge on this show will allow me to give creative feedback to the newest and hottest dancers on the rise.

The first three episodes will narrow these 15 crews down to the final nine that will compete this season.

A professional dancer trained in tap, jazz, hip-hop and African dance, Omarion joins J.C. Chasez (*NSYNC) and Lil Mama ("Voice of the Young People") as judges on the "Dance Crew" stage. The series is hosted by Mario Lopez ("Extra"); Layla Kayleigh ("World Poker Tour") serves as backstage correspondent.

I Will Not Allow Myself To Succumb To The Pressures...
By Omarion
January 12, 2010

Every year we all make promises to ourselves to do something different in the year to come.

Some people try to give up their most difficult vice or make decisions to improve on a certain area of their life. Going into 2010 I have decided to do something a little different, instead of telling myself what I plan on doing, I’m going to say what I won’t do for this year.

I will not accept failure from myself or any person on my team. Being that I am the CEO of my own record label, I make it a point for everyone that I work with to never accept failure, don’t take “no” for an answer. There is a way to resolve any problem and make the best out of a bad situation so that the result is fruitful and productive.

I will never let those that support me and my artistry down in any way. In this business I know that I have an obligation to those that have obligated themselves to me. Whether on a professional or personal basis I know that loved ones, colleagues and my fans expect certain things from me and it is my duty to give it to them

I will not allow myself to succumb to the pressures that the industry can sometimes present to artists. I have made a promise to myself to keep GOD first and keep my head up as I continue on my journey and in doing that I know that I will achieve all of the goals that I would like to achieve in being an artist.

SINGERSROOM INTERVIEW: OMARION'S BUSINESS TRANSITION! ++

Omarion: Business Transition
By Lauren M. Walker

Omarion, he’s been gone for a minute but now he’s back, and he sits down with Singersroom to just catch us up on where he’s been, and the whole Young Money situation. With his third solo studio effort, 'Ollusion', in stores now, the “Get it In” singer really gives us insight as to what’s been going on with him and where he and his career are off to now, beginning with the launch of his own Imprint, StarrWorld Entertainment.

Singersroom: So, in between albums, catch us up on what you’ve been up to…Can you give us insight into the rumors surrounding your signing then sudden departure from Young Money Entertainment?

Omarion: Well, in the midst of the time that I took off…I really took off the time to work on myself not only personally…I just did a lot of re-evaluating and maturing and growing up. The reason why I did the business part of it is because someone like myself that has everything and has had everything could be handicapped by that and I really just took that time to mature and become a real man and spend time with my family, took a few trips here and there and allow life to happen so that I could come up with good music that not only was realistic to my life but realistic to normal people.

People that get the opportunity to go through the struggles of not paying a phone bill or whatever the case may be, these are the things for a person like me that’s been in the industry and had all that help that actually could be spoiled and it can be unfortunate; it’s almost like not preparing for real life. So, I just took some time to do that, and now I’m back.

Singersroom: What event ultimately occurred that caused you to decide to do your own imprint?

OMARION, SNOOP DOGG, MORE REMEMBER TEDDY PENDERGRASS! ++

Snoop Dogg, Trey Songz, More Remember Teddy Pendergrass
By Shaheem Reid

'It hurt my heart to hear about his passing,' Snoop says.

Celebrities continue to express their love and admiration for the legacy that Teddy Pendergrass left behind — the soul legend died on Wednesday at age 59.

"It hurt my heart to hear about his passing," Snoop Dogg said in an e-mail to MTV News. "I remember when I was young, my momma and her friends went to a concert when I was little. It was all ladies in the audience — he was the only man who could sell out a concert to all ladies.

"I loved his music when he was in Hal Melvin and the Blue Notes and when he went solo," Snoop added. "My favorite song was 'Where Are All My Friends.' That was the coldest song he made."

"Teddy Pendergrass — artists like that to me, I don't even know what they was on," Jermaine Dupri marveled. "I always wish I could be a fly in the studio with them one time. If I could ever take myself back one time to just see what made them make 'Love T.K.O.' — the sound of the records don't even sound like what we make now. Sometimes I sample records and when I'm sitting in the studio, I go between whether I should sample or replay it. The sample of that whole Philadelphia sound and what they was doing and the way his voice was and all that, it was incredible to me. It sounded different from anything else we hear today. Even when you listen to 'Wake Up,' listen to how piercing his voice sounds. You have to really pay attention to what he's talking about.

"I put on my blog last night that we continue to lose the best," JD added. "I hope this generation could follow. It's a hard bunch to follow. Michael Jackson, Teddy Pendergrass — this ain't no easy show to get on. These boys was the best that ever did it."

"Turn off the lights and light a candle," Omarion said in an e-mail, quoting some of Pendergrass' most famous lyrics. "Whenever Teddy said, 'Turn em off!!!' You did! Teddy P. Hall of Fame in my book."

"Teddy, man," Trey Songz said. "From 'Wake up Everybody' to 'Turn Off the Lights,' he made it possible in a lot of ways for guys like me. It's only right we pay our respect to him. My mother might have been conceived to some Teddy. He is the heart and soul of the music I make today. Everybody has to go at some point. It's God's will that he's gone, but we pay our respect and pay our condolences to his family and cherish the moments he did have here."

Omarion concert at school to benefit non-profit group
Alicia Ebaugh

Hit R&B artist and actor Omarion is set to make an appearance Sunday at Michigan City High School as a fund raiser for local non-profit Corner to Cornerstone.

Tickets will be $20, and all proceeds will be put back into Corner for Cornerstone's classes to train young people in the construction trades.

Omarion, 25, is most known for his hit songs "Ice Box." He also has appeared in several movies, including "You Got Served."

"He will sing a little, but he wants to talk to the kids and take pictures, too," said Madine Randolph, Corner to Cornerstone administrative coordinator. "It's very exciting he's agreed to do this for us. Very seldom do big name people come to a small town."

The event will start at 7 p.m., but doors will open at 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Corner to Cornerstone's office, 1709 E. Michigan Blvd., Smokey G's BBQ, 2701 Franklin St., or Ballers Palace, Marquette Mall. Randolph said the group is still looking for local businesses to sponsor tickets for students with good grades and attendance.

Corner to Cornerstone founder Ryan Fly came with Randolph to Tuesday's School Board meeting to request a fee waiver for use of the high school's gym for the event.

The fee waiver was granted.

OMARION TALKS OLLUSION, TELLS FANS IT'S GONNA BE A LONG RIDE & MORE! ++

OMARION: "GET YOUR FRUIT CUPS, IT’S GONNA BE A LONG RIDE!"
By Tanya Remekie

OMARION is a busy man right now. So busy that during our interview we were interrupted by an undisclosed man who urgently needed Omarion’s opinion at that very moment and time. Yet when the urgency took about a good minute it was realized our time was precious.

So as RIGHT ON!’s correspondent for all things street but sweet, Tanya Remekie tried to extract the juices and get the pulp-like how did it work that Omarion got out of being with Young Money after only a few months affiliation, if he’s still chummy with KHLOE KARDASHIAN, if he is married to that model who was thought to be bi, and if he’s a Jehovah’s Witness.

Read on. 15 minutes tick on the timer, and we get it in.

TR: So take us through the entire “being signed to” Young Money stint that you had. How did you become affiliated with Young Money in the first place?

Omarion: Well, um basically, I was in a situation before Young Money which was similar. That situation pretty much came from me asking to be released from Sony and basically trying to find a new home. The thing was, the relationship that Tim [TIMBALAND] and JUSTIN [Timberlake] had, was something that I was kind of looking for. I was kind of looking for a home or to be able to get myself into a new situation. So when Timbaland and myself and the Timbaland thing didn’t work out, you know, the next person I talked to was [Lil] WAYNE.

OMARION ON NEW ALBUM OLLUSION: 'IT'S A GOOD SITUATION'! ++

Omarion On New Album Ollusion: 'It's A Good Situation'
By Shaheem Reid

'I kinda have this thing for trying out new things,' he says of the sounds on his latest LP.

Omarion has finally found the perfect balance between family, friends and work — his mother even appears in the video for his new single, "Hoodie." His third solo LP, Ollusion, is now in stores, and after false starts with Timbaland's Mosely Music Group and Lil Wayne's Young Money, O is independent — the album came out on his own Starworld Entertainment imprint.

"The title derived from the word illusion," he explained to MTV News. "The thing about Omarion and my history, because I've been in the game so long, sometimes I feel I could be typecast. That's why I decided to change my appearance and things like that. You always hear rumors of me — I've got a girl pregnant. I've married a stripper and she's bisexual. There's so much misconception about Omarion. I felt Ollusion was the perfect title because people don't really know me that well even though I've been in the game. Ollusion is gonna set things straight."

O's first single was "I Get It In" with Gucci Mane, and that record was followed up by "Hoodie."

" 'Hoodie' is, like, one of my favorite songs on the album," he said. "It's a conceptual record. It's rare you'll hear conceptual records that identify with objects. 'Hoodie' is something I felt like Michael [Jackson] would do. Along with the video, at the beginning of the video I dedicated it to Michael. Jay Rock is in the video and so is my mother. Jay Rock is family — when I heard that verse, I was like, ' OK Jay Rock.' "

"Speedin'," is actually a slow track, and displays O's more conventional singing delivery. He croons about finding his way back to his loved one's heart.

"That record, I know it has the potential to be one of the biggest records I ever had," he offered. " 'Speedin'' was produced by 253. The thing about 'Speedin'' was that this is what people know me for moreso than 'I Get It In.' People have known me for being the person that has tried new things. ... I kinda have this thing for trying out new things. 'Speedin'' is more of, like, an Omarion-sounding record. It's a banger, my second single. It's a good situation."

Omarion Drops 'Ollusion,' Warns 'Let the Best Man Win!'
By BoomBox Staff

Omarion may no longer be a member of Lil Wayne's Young Money imprint, but there's no way he's letting a shift in career direction stop him from claiming what he feels is his rightful throne. Today (Jan. 12) marks the release of 'Ollusion' -- the R&B singer's third solo effort and first release on his own label, Starworld Entertainment.

Omarion's initial attachment to Wayne's hard-rapping crew seemed like an odd pairing. We first met the 25-year-old as a fresh-faced teen heartthrob and lead singer of the boy group B2K, where he helped make sweaty bare chests and souped-up dance moves a prerequisite for successful R&B. Following his boy band days Omarion would collaborate with Bow Wow for the one-off, pop-rap album 'Face Off.'

It was met with lukewarm response. In an effort to bounce back, Omarion began prepping 'Ollusion.' A week after announcing his allegiance with Young Money last August, the single 'I Get It In' leaked, which at the time featured Wayne. Rumors swirled that Omarion leaked the track and that the unofficial leak lead to his fall out with Young Money only a week later. O denies the claims.

"It had to do with Wayne being a captain and me being a captain, and in a car -- it's only one driver," Omarion told the BoomBox of his Young Money departure. "Because I've been successful as a solo artist, there are certain things that I need to operate. Wayne's ship runs a certain way that just really conflicted with his and my ideas. I still respect Wayne as a rapper, and everything that they're doing over there. I got a lot of love for those guys."

"You always want to wait for the right record and because I felt like I had the right record," he says, further elaborating on his departure from Young Money, "I didn't want sit on this record. I didn't want to give it the opportunity to be leaked, even though that ended up happening. People got used to all of my peers and I didn't want them to feel like they could forget about me -- almost like they forgot about Dre."

Q&A: Omarion Gives Us An Inside Look At His Latest Album 'Ollusion'
By Claudine Paul

Omarion is passionate about the art of making music, and the art of dance. The music entertainer's third studio release Ollusion, out today on his own label Starrworld Entertainment, encompasses all of this, plus the singer's new vibe. Noted music stars Gucci Mane and Jay Rock also make guest appearances on Omarion's Ollusion, which features hits "I Get It In," "Hoodie," and "Speedin."

Starpulse writer Claudine Paul caught up with an assured, excited, and yet philosophical Omarion recently, and here's what the singer had to share on his latest release:

Claudine Paul: Your third studio release Ollusion will be released this week on January 12, 2010. What was your thought process that went into recording your new release basically?

Omarion: Well, really it just was about, it was about everything that's happening right now, and what I mean by that is, you know I've been away from the game for probably about two years, and I took that time really just to experience life, I took the time to reflect. You know, being an entertainer is not an easy thing, there's very few people that get the opportunity to be in the game as long as I have been in the game, and I'm so blessed and I feel so happy that I've been given that opportunity.

So with the album I really just poured all of my new experiences as far as love, new relationships, my views on certain topics, I poured it to my music. Ollusion is by far is my best work, every song on the album. When I say that it's from me, I really mean that.

CP: How did you come up with the title?

Omarion: Well, Ollusion derives from the word illusion. The thing about illusion, or, illusions is that they seem to be one thing but they're not. I put the "O" to kind of represent that about me. A lot of people, especially the media, they've always speculate about the kind of guy that I am.

ATF EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: OMARION OPENS UP! ++

Exclusive Interview: Omarion Opens Up
By Ian Jarrell

Omarion is now considered an industry veteran with platinum selling albums and numerous charting hits. He won over everyone as the lead singer in B2K and then became a sex symbol as a solo star. O is now back on the scene with a new album entitled Ollusion, and we got a chance to chat it up with the R&B dude about everything from leaving Young Money to his dislike of Perez Hilton.

ATF: So Omarion tell us about Ollusion..

Omarion: Well Ollusion is my third album. I’m so excited, not only because I’ve written every song but also because it’s coming out through my label. I own my masters and everything, so that is a blessing. It’s good especially today in the industry when album sales are lacking. A lot of people aren’t trying to buy albums because of the recession.

ATF: So what did it feel like writing your own album? You have been in the industry for a minute and this is the first time people will see your pen game.

O: See the thing is when your apart of a major record company they are all about the money and numbers, so they usually stick you in the studio with some creative songwriter that you might not vibe with. So they might write the song and expect you to feel like they felt when they wrote the song, and its really hard to do that. But this time around everything I’m talking about is from my life and my point of view.

ATF: So where the hell did this title come from, Ollusion?

O: (laughs) well it came from me feeling like I’m a really nice guy but throughout my career I’ve been looked at so differently. I’m not saying I’m pleading for anybody to like me, but at the same time every time someone talks about O it’s in a negative context. I really don’t understand that a lot of the time. That why I put the O in Ollusion because people are always perceiving me as someone I’m not.

Omarion Set to Unveil His 'Ollusion'

After learning of Omarion’s impressive resume of singing, acting, songwriting and producing, it’s hard to believe that he is only 25 years old. He’s what you would call a veteran in the entertainment field, and his latest album, Ollusion, could prove he’s got staying power.

Omarion’s self-described “aggressive, energetic, exciting and passionate” sound that will be demonstrated in Ollusion, out Tuesday (Jan. 12), has already excited his fans, after the recent release of the single, “I Get It In” featuring Gucci Mane. The video features Omarion’s slick dance moves in a simple black-and-white contrast that compliments the catchy beat.

“I wrote every song,” Omarion tells andPOP. “I think people can connect with personal moments in the album. When you’re singing about something that’s true to you, it’s like talking about something that’s true to you. So that’s the reason why the whole album is really personal I guess. I think it’s better that way.”

So what led this talented performer to his success?

“I would say my mom,” Omarion admits humbly. “She was a dancer, and overall she was a huge influence so I would definitely credit her for that. I was actually a rapper before I was a singer and she was like ‘you should sing.’ So I tried it out. And it’s my soul, it’s my passion, it’s everything that I am.”

Along with influence from both parents, Omarion lists Michael Jackson, his peers and old-school artists such as the unflappable Stevie Wonder as inspirations. What really makes these influences stand out are their passions for their crafts, and that’s where Omarion feels he parallels that emotion, love and dedication. “They’re just so passionate,” he says.

Omarion Gives DJBooth.net Exclusive Preview of Ollusion
By Nathan S.

Friday night, as the sun set over Hollywood's world famous Capitol Records tower, former teen heartthrob turned platinum selling solo artist Omarion gave DJBooth.net and other assembled press an exclusive sneak peek of his upcoming third album Ollusion, taking the assembled press through each and every track of the scorching album he recorded in only one intensely productive week.

Calling Ollusion the most personal and creatively complex album of his career, an album he was intricately involved in, from conception to songwriting, Omarion explained that his ever-expanding repertoire was a natural result of the current state of the music industry.

"There are no boundaries in the music industry anymore," he said. "Rappers are singing, singers are rapping, some artists are even DJing parties now, so I really wanted to do new things on this album, to continue to break boundaries.

Saying the track was perhaps the best song he's ever done, Omarion seemed particularly proud of Speedin', the smoothly banging cut that's slated to become the album's second single.

Ollusion is set to hit stores and online tomorrow, Tuesday, January 12. Be sure to keep it locked to DJBooth.net for a review of the album, coming later this week.

While Omarion awaits the Tuesday (Jan. 12) release of his new album Ollusion, the former B2K frontman is also looking forward to projects from his peers.

Two big albums he’s waiting on this year are Beyoncé’s I Am…Sasha Fierce follow-up and Usher’s Raymond vs. Raymond, which is currently due in February despite recent leaks.

“I’m really excited to see what [Beyoncé] is about this time, what type of music she does,” Omarion tells VIBE. “I’m [also] looking forward to Usher’s album. I heard a lot about it. A couple of months back he played me a lot of records but I’m not sure if he kept them or if it’s new or what exactly he’s doing, so I’m very interested to see what he comes with.”

Of Ursh’s Polow Da Don-produced single, “Little Freak,” featuring Nicki Minaj, O says, “It’s dope. I want to see the video. I’m real interested to see how mobile [Usher] is. I want to see his get-off, how he’s performing, how he’s dancing.”

Despite Drake being his former label mate, Omarion seemed oblivious about the Toronto rapper's much hyped debut Thank Me Later (“Oh, it’s called Thank Me Later?” O asked). Though the two collaborated on Drake’s So Far Gone track, “Bree’s Interlude,” while O was still signed to Young Money Entertainment, he insists it wasn’t a tit-for-tat deal.

December COVER COST: Omarion Is In Control

2010 will mark a new direction in the career of the singer, dancer, songwriter, record executive and filmmaker known as Omarion. The Los Angeles-bred Omari Grandberry has witnessed the entertainment business firsthand, as he saw hordes of talent come and go in a city whose avenues are paved with the debris of broken dreams.

But after starting his career under the tutelage of Chris Stokes in the R&B group B2K, and having deals fall through with mega-producer Timbaland and the world-renowned hip-hop star Lil’ Wayne, the 25-year-old maestro is looking to benefit creatively and financially with the January 2010 release of his third solo album, “Ollusion.”

For his new album, Omarion penned all of the material, and even directed the video for his first single, “I Get It In,” which features Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane. Call it a coincidence, but just as the young mogul decides to personally explore the trials and tribulations of the music business on this album, it will be the first release under his StarWorld Entertainment imprint with EMI.

This perfect mixture of circumstances should make for an exciting and emotional project, but it won’t stray far away from Omarion’s core– and that’s entertainment.

Omarion: The Birth of a Mogul

Omarion's star power was on full wattage as he prepared for a 20-minute interview at the Grand Hyatt in Washington D.C. While completing a couple of rounds of press before taking the stage at the WPGC 95.5 Family First Expo, the melodic sensation, thespian and entrepreneur's charisma filled the mid-sized hotel suite of his patient record company representative.

Dressed in a chic wind breaker, crisp jeans and his signature "Loc" shades, the self-assured superstar offered the simple, yet cool greeting of "Gents" as he strolled into the room -- pinpointing his target of lights, camera and action. Of course, this routine is nothing new to the music industry veteran.

Born in Inglewood, California and raised in Los Angeles, Omari Grandberry has witnessed the entertainment business firsthand, as he saw hordes of talent come and go in a city whose avenues are paved with the debris of broken dreams.

Encouraged by his mother to develop his talents, Omarion started to take his craft seriously at the tender age of five. It wasn't long before the majors would come knocking, with record producer and manager Chris Stokes being the first one at the door.

After seeing success with his group Immature -- a young R&B trio he put together in the early 90's -- Stokes struck gold (and platinum) again when he recruited Omarion to head up a R&B-Pop quartet called B2K in 2001. But after multi-platinum success and worldwide distinction, the group disbanded in 2004 to pursue their solo careers.

Omarion Says New Label, Album 'Beautiful Thing'
By Singersroom Staff

While there has been some controversy when it comes to Omarion in 2009, the "I Get It In" singer is looking forward to a strong 2010 as a label owner, entrepreneur and artist with freedom.

"If feels amazing," Omarion says of his new deal with EMI and forthcoming album "Ollusion". "When you have a record company or any people that have money involved, they want input. A lot of times that can conflict with the vision, ’cause you want to please them as well. EMI told me to be who I am, so I think I’m in a position to showcase who I am as an artist."

Set to release "Ollusion" in January, Omarion candidly spoke with Sister 2 Sister Magazine for its December issue, calling his decision to part ways with both Mosley Music Group and Young Money "the best move".

"I’m not even at my peak yet and I took my time to make sure this was the best move. I am so excited. As an entrepreneur I have Starworld Entertainment and I have my own artist. It’s a beautiful thing."

Led by "I Get It," featuring Gucci Mane, Omarion's third studio album is due in stores January 12, 2010.

Omarion Dances With Mom In New Michael Jackson Tribute Video
By Billy Johnson, Jr.

Omarion has released a 2-minute teaser clip from his latest video, "Hoodie" featuring Jay Rock.

The video is a tribute to the late Michael Jackson. While Omarion incorporates modern dancing, the look and feel of the vid is reminiscent of Michael Jackson's "Beat It."

Additionally, the video has another special element, an appearance from Omarion's mother. Leslie Burrell. Burrell, who is also a dancer, joins her son in a jerk dance scene.

I give Miss Burrell her props. She looks good. Without a doubt, Omarion inherited some of her fancy footwork. She could get some of her girls and compete on America's Best Dance Crew.

The full length "Hoodie" video will be released next week. Omarion's album "Ollusion" is due out on January 12, 2010.

'O' So Open: Omarion Addresses All Rumors
Posted by Jawn Murray

He was once the cornrow-sporting front man of the best-selling boy band B2K. But now, Omarion is a 25-year-old man, with a close-cut and running his own record label, StarWorld Entertainment via a venture with EMI Music.

While he was in Washington, DC recently doing a promotional appearance for his upcoming album, 'Ollusion,' I sat down with the 'You Got Served' star at his hotel for a candid chat about controversial stories regarding him that have made headlines.

In addition to talking music, Omarion addressed the reports that he doesn't like bisexual women; that he only dates light-skin Black women; his rumored beef with rapper Bow Wow; if he'll reunite with B2K and the thing he anticipates about his newfound religion.

What's the easiest thing about having your hair cut?

The easiest thing about having my hair cut is that I can just get up and go, but at the same time I still want to keep a fresh line up. It's still a pro and a con because I still have to keep it maintained for a consistent look, but I can just brush it and I'm ready to go. I don't miss it but I'm actually growing a duck tail it and it's gonna be long in the back.

A Day in the Life: Omarion
By Latifah Muhammad

It's an early New York morning, and much like an athlete preparing for their shinning moment singer Omarion is prepping himself for a grueling day of promotion for his new album 'Ollusion.' As he makes his way from his hotel room to a waiting SUV, the 25-year-old steals quiet moments to himself before heading over to the Power 105 'Ed Lover Morning Show' with his game face on.

"I don't know if there is any such thing as unwinding in the midst of work," he says of the jam-packed schedule his management has him on. "You unwind when you get back to the hotel and you're done with work. Most of the time conversations range from the interviews that just happened or what we're going to do later. When we're in the midst of business it's usually about something that's going on or something that's to come."

As he takes his seat in the studio next to morning show co-host Free, O can't hold in his laughter from all the personal questions -- like who he's "banging" -- the duo throw his way.

His next stop is rival radio station Hot 97 where Peter Rosenberg quizzes him on how well he knows black women, asking what kind of food a black woman wants on a dinner date. "Chicken!" Omarion says smiling. "I know my black women!"

At break time O and his team head over to The Pink Tea Cup for breakfast before hitting his next location. It's his first time at the West Village soul-food institution and there he manages to find some time to play a few songs on the jukebox and a game of Sudoku in a local newspaper. "That's like a hobby of mine when I'm really bored, or I'm just chilling," he says.

OMARION KICKIN’ OFF NEW PHASE WITH HIGH ENERGY! ++

Singer Omarion kicks off new phase in high energy
By Monica Herrera

NEW YORK (Billboard) - When R&B artist Omarion sings, "I done cut the braids, low cut, got my grown on," in a raspy croon on his new single "I Get It In," he's referencing a turning point in his career.

"I felt like my braids defined who I was, and there's so much more to me," says the 25-year-old singer, who shed his signature hairstyle in July, like Ludacris and Mario before him. "I'm not a kid in the industry anymore; I have a sense of self."

"I Get It In" is No. 26 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and No. 18 on Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop. The track, which features a cameo by in-demand rapper Gucci Mane, provides a solid setup for the former B2K singer's third solo album. Due January 12, "Ollusion" will be released on the artist's own Starworld Entertainment imprint through EMI Label Services.

"It's the first record I've put out since (2005's) 'Touch' that has a high-energy dance vibe," Omarion says. "I have a new look and my own label now, so it felt like the right way to kick things off."

Omarion, whose real name is Omari Grandberry, recently released a highly choreographed music video for "I Get It In." His second single will be a song he co-produced with four-person production team 253. Titled "Speed'n," the midtempo number recalls past hits "O" and "Ice Box."

Other tracks include "Hoodie," a boastful jam featuring Jay Rock, and "What Do You Say," a ballad Omarion co-wrote with his friend Chris Brown.

OMARION TAKING HIS TIME: INTERVIEW WITH HOUSTON STYLE MAGAZINE! ++

Omarion Taking His Time
By Jo-Carolyn Goode

President Barack Obama is considered to be one of the most gifted intellectuals of our time. His intellect though naturally endowed, has been enhanced by his ability to take the time to soundly weigh all options when decision-making is the order of the day. No one hardly takes time to do anything anymore, especially young people.

When Omarion began his solo career, he was the typical youth, releasing a project pretty much every year. Sure they were great projects and sales were in the millions, but he always knew he could do better, so before he debuted his third album, he assumed an Obama-like persona by taking time to really gives his fans something that would make them go ‘Wow!’ “ I really wanted to take time to grow and get new material,” said Omarion. “ When you are putting out an album every year, it is only so much you can talk about. It is only so much life you allow to happen.”

He found himself getting in a mode where he was on a cycle of promo tours, traveling, and performing at shows, but he wasn’t creating music because he didn’t have time to really focus on it. In addition, he had to get his house in order. “I really took the time to get in a better situation,” said Omarion, referencing situations where he branched off from Sony, Timberland, Young Money and took time to build his own conglomerate.

After regrouping Omarion is back, better than ever, with a brand new album, “Ollusion, “set to be released in January 2010. “The album is as hot as ever!” exclaimed Omarion. He has released his first single from the album “I Get In” featuring Gucci Mane. The video, which is an ode to Michael Jackson, is packed with moves that defy gravity and excites his audience. That is exactly the feeling for which Omarion was going. “I feel like it is important for performers to feel the way he (Michael Jackson) made people feel and that is what I tried to capture in the video,” said Omarion.

Omarion Is Gettin’ Grown

Interview by Souleo (excerpted from December 2009 issue of Sister 2 Sister magazine)

After taking some time off to reflect on his career and life, Omarion returns with a new deal through EMI, his own label Starworld Entertainment, plus a new album titled Ollusion . Omarion opened up about embracing his manhood and taking control of his life, why he doesn’t always care to respond to negative press, the truth about his exit from Young Money, why he feels disrespected by two former B2K members, and the rumor that he got married.

Souleo: Before we got on the phone I was reading your Twitter page. You always tweet about being positive and motivated. Where does that positive energy come from?
Omarion: I think when you have that outlook on life, it’s a lot easier. Life always has its twists and turns, but when you keep yourself positive and know there will be a brighter day, it keeps you optimistic. I’ve been living my life like this and I want to share that with people.

Souleo: Usually when someone has that outlook and they overcome a challenge, they come out on the other side even more motivated. So what challenges have made your positive energy increase tenfold?
Omarion: I would say, at this moment, manhood. When you’re an entertainer and have people cater to you all your life since 14—I’ve always been independent ’cause my mom was a single mother. I was oldest of four so I always had this mature persona, but to actually know the different people that play the different roles in my life—like my business manager or my assistant—I now understand why I hire these people. Truthfully, a man can do for himself and doesn’t need anybody. But I had help all my life, so it was a challenge for me to step back and say I want to deal with this on my own. I want to be able to know what it feels like to not have a spending limit. So these experiences in life have balanced me into not living a fictitious, entertainer-driven lifestyle. I think the persona of an entertainer can be misunderstood. When you’re popular and successful, the only thing that seems to matter is your fame. You wonder, how am I gonna look when I arrive? Who is gonna be there? It becomes so self-consuming, and I believe part of being a man is being able to give. So, to answer your question, with all that I said, the thing that has kept me balanced and optimistic is manhood.

Chris Brown Pens Song for Omarion’s Album
By Georgette Cline

Omarion has stuck by Chris Brown through the ups and downs, and now the “Crawl” singer is paying back his friend by helping to write a song for his album.

The B2K alum, who turns 25 today, revealed to Rap-Up.com that he penned a record with Brown for his new album Ollusion (Jan. 12). “Chris and I wrote the song ‘What Do You Say?’,” he said of the Battle Royal production.

O also disclosed that the 253-produced “Speed” will be the follow-up single to “I Get It In.” “The concept of the song is that I’m racing to get to my girl because I love her and I care about her. It has so many meanings too, not just racing time. We’re racing like whether or not we’re gonna be together.

We could be on a collision course and we could crash,” he explained. “With ‘Speed,’ we’re trying to get to that focal point, that point where we could just both look at each other and know what it is, and be like, ‘I love you.’”

Akon affiliate Detail produced two records for the R&B crooner’s third solo album along with Tank, who helmed the lead single featuring Gucci Mane.

OMARION SPEAKS ON BEING REPLACED ON YOUNG MONEY SINGLE! ++

Thanks to Joana, we have a little article from Rap-Up.com's recent conversation with Omarion. Check out what he had to say about being replaced by Lloyd on Young Money's single below!

After his split with Young Money in August, Omarion hit another “Rock” when he was replaced by Lloyd on the rap crew’s new single. He shares his reaction with Rap-Up.com.

The former B2K member originally sang the hook on “Girl You Know,” later retitled “Bed Rock,” for December 15th’s Young Money compilation We Are Young Money . When asked what he thought of his replacement, “You” singer Lloyd, Omarion said, “That’s interesting. I heard it. It didn’t bother me.”

O was first contacted about remaining on the song or having someone else sing his hook. “I was contacted and they told me they wanted to potentially use my version of the song or have someone else sing it because I wrote the hook.”

In the end, his vocals and lyrics were swapped for Lloyd’s. “Lloyd did another hook. That’s what’s so interesting to me too,” he shared. “Technically people didn’t have to know that [I wrote the hook if Lloyd would've sang my version]. I didn’t go and tell nobody before the song came out.”

But Omarion still thinks he outshined his R&B counterpart. “Truthfully, I thought mine was better.”

Omarion Hopes to Work with Young Money Again
By Georgette Cline

Although their relationship was short lived, Omarion is not ruling out the chance to work with his former Young Money labelmates again.

The R&B crooner’s new album, Ollusion, will not feature any songs with his ex-family members including Lil Wayne, but he is open to future collaborations. When asked whether their paths will cross once more, Omarion told Rap-Up.com, “Hopefully. I love to create music. That’s what I’m all about.”

In fact, he’s looking beyond hip-hop for potential collaborators. “What’s that character Jamie Foxx played? He played the violin. Nathaniel Ayers [in The Soloist]. I would do a song with him [laughs]. I just love creative people. I love the studio and I love having the vibe. It could be whoever.”

Omarion’s one-time boss, who was replaced by Gucci Mane on his new single “I Get It In,” is expected to be formally sentenced in February to one year in jail for attempted gun possession. O shared his thoughts on Wayne going behind bars. “I think that it’s unfortunate, but at the same time I really feel like he’s not gonna miss out on anything,” he said, while comparing Weezy’s situation to another popular incarcerated rapper. “T.I.’s about to be home and he didn’t miss nothing. Nothing happened while he was gone. I don’t think anybody wants to go to jail, that’s just not a place for people.”

The video for “I Get It In” is expected to premiere in the next week, while Omarion’s third solo album Ollusion is due January 12.

Omarion Dedicates Videos to Michael Jackson
By Georgette Cline

Any dancer cannot deny the influence of Michael Jackson. One in particular, Omarion, is paying homage to the King of Dance by dedicating his new music videos to him.

The clip for the R&B singer’s first single, “I Get It In” featuring Gucci Mane, will debut next week. He is also working on a video for “Hoodie,” a viral single from his new album Ollusion, due January 12.

“‘Hoodie’ is a viral single. We’re putting it out there for the fans. Both videos ['Hoodie' and 'I Get It In'] are dedicated to Michael Jackson. It’s a mix between ‘Beat It’ and ‘Bad,’” the former B2K member tells Rap-Up.com.

O describes the clip’s dance-heavy premise. “When I pull up, I’m getting out the car, we start choreography and then it keeps going until the end of the video. I’m telling you right now, this is probably one of the dopest videos you’ve seen in a long time because it’s a concept.”

Omarion: Rihanna's 'Russian Roulette' Shows 'Dark Side to Entertainment Industry'

By Latifah Muhammad
Published: Tuesday October 27, 2009

If there's one thing that Rihanna knows how to do its get people talking. Usually grabbing headlines for her fashion sense or her tumultuous relationship with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, the Bajan beauty has been causing quite a stir with her latest single, 'Russian Roulette.'

Since hitting the 'net last week, reviews have been split down the middle, although some, like singer Tiffany Evans, are delving deeper into the song's "true concept." Evans blasted Rihanna via Twitter for what she sees as glorification of suicide and devil worship.

We spoke with Evans' former label mate Omarion, who gave his thoughts on the growing controversy.

"I don't personally know Rihanna's beliefs but I think there's a very dark and very sinister part of the entertainment business and I think it's very visible," he said. "This is something that a lot of people don't look at [but for example] Michael Jackson used to be a Jehovah's Witness and I remember hearing that he wanted to separate from the religion -- and this was during the time that he was doing 'Thriller' [which ended up being] his biggest album."

Celebrities Invade Burr for Game

By VICTORIA FORTUNE
Published: Thursday, October 22, 2009

A long line of students filled the Burr Gymnasium minutes after 7pm in hopes for a quick glimpse of a celebrity basketball player. From former B2K singer Omarion, to actor on The Game, Pooch Hall, over a dozen of entertainers and And 1 basketball players stormed the court. Not only were the celebrities a highlight of the evening, but for the first time in history, the Dribble for Dreams homecoming initiative led by Charles Bell awarded a laptop to an elementary school student.

Upon their grand entrance, the audience cheer with excitement and glee. When Midget Mac’s name is called, the gymnasium breaks in pandemonium.

“This is my first time at Howard. This is a nice privilege. I’m excited, ready to win,” said Midget Mac.

While Midget Mac, focused in primarily on winning the game, Omarion had his own tactic for winning.

“I’m here. My game is going to be looking tight. I’m already looking sexy in my outfit. I think that’s what I really bring to the game, sex appeal. That’s what’s going to win the game,” said Omarion, player on the black team.

The players take their marks and the game begins. Seven minutes and forty seconds into the game the black team leads the scoreboard with 19 points. Midget Mac, a player on the black team receives the ball and takes a long dribble down the court and passes.

On the red team consisted of Pooch Hall, and Lance Gross, both players who managed to score during the game.

Omarion Looks To January For Ollusion Release
Newsroom | Posted on 10/23/09 | Filed Under: R&B News, Omarion

Omarion has decided to take a bit more time to craft his forthcoming album "Ollusion," which is now set for a 2010 release. Originally lined up for release November 24, the "I Get It In" singer's album is now set for release January 12, 2010.

News of the couple month push back comes just as Omarion preps the release of his first major solo music video since "Icebox" for the Gucci Mane assisted cut "I Get It In".

A preview of the video was released earlier this week, with the words "the King of dance returns". In the clip, which is set in a pure white room, with only a series of black circles on the floor, Omarion showcases his lauded footwork with a team of six dancers.

As previously reported "Ollusion" will be Omarion's first release under his own imprint, through EMI Music Services, titled Starworld Entertainment.

Omarion Is 'Definitely' Going To See 'Michael Jackson's This Is It'
By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Matt Elias

'I really feel connected to him, just like the world does,' O says of the late pop star.

As "Michael Jackson's This Is It" documentary gets closer to its October 28 theatrical release date, finally giving fans a chance to see how the King of Pop's last days unfolded, artists whose careers have been influence by MJ have been speaking out about him and their excitement about the film.

Ne-Yo said he'll be one of the first in line to catch a screening, while Justin Timberlake is looking forward to the most intimate portrait yet of the fallen icon. Now former B2K frontman Omarion has aired his thoughts on "This Is It" to MTV News, admitting that while he plans to see the doc, it remains a "touchy subject" for him.

"[Jackson] did not just inspire everything that I do, but I really feel connected to him, just like the world does," O explained. "And from an artist's standpoint, these are the things that I have to ask myself, like, 'Why did everyone draw to him the way that they drew to him? Why did everyone feel the way that I feel about him?' And I mean, like, not 10,000 people or 100,000 people. I mean, like, 10 million - millions and millions."

Omarion recalled the first time he saw MJ in concert. He couldn't remember the exact time period, but the impression the show left on him was unforgettable.

"My mom took me because my mom was a fan, and I had this big Michael Jackson T-shirt on, and we were in, like, super, super-high nosebleeds, but I felt him all the way in the nosebleeds section," he said.

So while Jackson's passing - and the film that follows the singer as he prepped for his London comeback concerts - remains sensitive territory for O, he's certain he'll be finding his way to a theater to take in the action.

"I'm definitely going to check out the film," he said. "It's sad that he's gone, but I'm definitely going to carry it on for him."

Don't miss "Michael Jackson's This Is It" Premiere Special, airing on MTV and VH1 on Tuesday, October 27 at 8:30 p.m. ET! "Michael Jackson's This Is It" opens in a limited engagement on October 27 and and wide on October 28.

Omarion Says ‘It’s Gonna Be My Time’ This Fall
October 2, 2009 by MTV News
By Jayson Rodriguez

» Singer explains why he's releasing Ollusion without the help of Lil Wayne.

There's a reason Omarion named his upcoming album Ollusion.

"Everything is based on perception, and I'm a testament of perception," O explained to MTV News. "All the moves I made, things might look a certain way, and they may be at times, but they might not. You always got to dig deeper and ask the questions."

And one of those questions might be: What exactly happened between O and Lil Wayne? In August, the Cash Money superstar announced on a California stage that the former B2K frontman was signed to Young Money. Then, less than a week later, the union fell through, and Wayne affiliate Mack Maine tweeted that Omarion was no longer a part of the team. The marriage seemed almost as short as Britney Spears' to Jason Alexander.

"When we were in the process of making the deal and the signing part, I wanna say it was roughly six to seven months, or maybe even a little longer," Omarion revealed. "To most people I know it seems like, 'Well, that was fast.' [Laughs.] I totally get it.

"Truthfully, though, I just really saw Wayne's position, and I respected him as a businessman in building the entity he wants to build," he continued. "My idea when we were getting together was that we were coming into more of a partnership. But I'm a leader, and he's a leader. When I thought about it and I really looked at the history of artists that do what I do, they're never under the umbrella of a crew."

So, Omarion moved on and swapped out the "Lollipop" MC for Gucci Mane on his single "I Get It In." (He dismisses the rumor that he leaked the song and dropped from Young Money as a result.) O says he was fortunate to be able to pick up another talented rapper to maintain the track's vibe.

Omarion Says "No Bad Blood" With Young Money

By Clover Hope

As with shotgun weddings and annulments, an artist's time on a record label can be fleeting. Just two months after R&B singer Omarion signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment in early June came the news that he was leaving to run his own imprint, Starworld Entertainment under EMI Records.

While some initially thought the former B2K frontman was dropped--suspicions that arose after his single, "I Get It In," leaked to the Internet, shortly followed by a tweet from Young Money President Mack Maine stating that Omarion was "no longer with Young Money"--Omarion quickly skirted the rumor in a statement, also denying his involvement in the song's leaking.

"I remember [Mack Maine] tweeting. He didn't say I got dropped. He didn't say anything," Omarion tells VIBE. "I think because I haven't been on the scene for a long time, people sometimes forget my history and forget that I had a career before Young Money. I've been in B2K, I've had a successful solo career, so nobody can 'drop me,' so to speak."

The singer further maintains that he and Wayne remain on good speaking terms despite the sudden departure.

"We spoke and he pretty much was like, 'Do what you wanna do and do your thing,'" says Omarion. "It's no bad blood. It's business."

Since the news of his leaving also came days after Bow Wow announced signing to Cash Money, some speculated friction between the pair, who released a collaborative effort, Face Off, in 2007. Omarion denies any animosity there, too, calling Bow Wow a "good friend."

"Business wise, Young Money and Cash Money are two totally separate entities. Wayne has his group of artists and Cash Money has its group of artists," says O. "It is one big family but Bow Wow, he's under Birdman. That didn't have anything to do with me wanting to be released."

Following B2K's disbandment in 2004, Omarion dropped two solo projects, briefly linking with Timbaland for one of his biggest singles, "Ice Box." More recently, he was featured on "Bria's Interlude" from Young Money rapper Drake's February mixtape, So Far Gone, and popped up on an early version of Young Money's new single, "Bedrock." Now prepping the release of his third solo album, Ollusion, due November 24, Omarion-who turns 25 that month-says he's ready to step out on his own after being under the management of others for much of his career.

"My style has evolved so much on this album -- I was able to express truly who I am from a creative and artistic standpoint, which allowed me to share a personal side of myself with my fans through my music. This is my masterpiece and I can't wait for the world to hear my new album," Omarion said. "I am very excited about my new home at EMI and know that this is the perfect opportunity for me to return to the charts."

"We are thrilled to provide commercial and marketing services for Omarion, one of the premiere artists in R&B. We look forward to collaborating with Omarion and his team to build and execute an amazing campaign for his new album," said Dominic Pandiscia, Senior Vice President and General Manager, EMI Label Services and Caroline Distribution.

Omarion has released two chart topping solo albums since leaving the multi-platinum selling group B2K. His first duet solo album, "O," debuted #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and Billboard 200 chart. His sophomore album, "21," dominated radio airplay and also debuted #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The second single from "21," "Ice Box," produced by Timbaland, topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart and was a platinum selling ringtone.

“Be more music, Music is us” June 18th, 2009 in ZEPP Tokyo, super talented 6 artists plus 1 group was gathered for one of the biggest music events in Tokyo – BMO Music Festival 09′ - I was there from the previous day on June 17th for The King of Dance artist Omarion Interview at FOX Japan in Tokyo.

Omarion came up to the interview room, with vivid green edge glasses. Once he started speaking, all the people surrounded him felt warm and he kindly responded the interviews. I felt the power strongly, that he hasn’t shown to the world yet. The Star has a vision for all the entertainment simply.

Omarion gave us acapella singing without any hesitation. SO Beautiful..soulful. The voice made the heart melt with glorious face. The king of dance artist says “Music comes from the passion.”

Day 1 : in ZEPP TOKYO, When Omarion came up on the Stage, the audience all got a goosebumps from his power of existance, the vivid Red shoes which he produces and unimaginable dancing. His moving totally entertained his fans. We had J. Holiday, SHAGGY, T.O.K, PITBULL and LIL JON, Sean Kingston, and Omarion.

Day 2 : All flew in Beautiful Island Okinawa for the weekend live right next to the beach. T.O.K – footsprint, my fav, matches the island pleasantly. Pitbull + LIL Jon yeaahhhh!!! – just amazing. J. Holiday did Big kick-start BMO 09′ the song ‘Bed’ made my eyes closed everytime.. so affectionate.

Even more, you wouldn’t believe how kind all the artists are. After all the concert, besides the popular songs you want to listen, I remember the time. Needless to say, the singers themselves, choreographer, and the DJs, all the producers- I’ve been just felt how wonderful things God created through music and gathered in one place for one city. The music they played was just the sound of Love.

FIND OUT WHAT OMARION THINKS IS THE BIGGEST MISCONCEPTION OF R&B ARTISTS!

MEGAN KARBANENKO spends some time getting to know Grammy-nominated R&B singer, actor (and former lead singer of B2K) OMARION – lead-man in this week’s Winter Jam.

At the time of our interview the 24-year-old is busy cooking a well-deserved meal after a long day in the studio. "I’m cooking some BBQ black beans and some teriyaki chicken and I’m ‘bout to put some rice on", he explains. "Today I’ve been in the studio, in the lab, getting it right!"

At this point Omarion’s already crackly phone line drops out. After a few minutes he is, thankfully, back on board but poses the following question: "Do you wanna sit down and do this in person when I get there?" Given this story is for today’s issue, I explain such a meeting is unfeasible although I would be the total envy of my younger sister! He laughs with an easing sense of humility and answers the next question: how does he manage to stay so grounded? "My family and friends. I’ve had some great people around me that help me keep some respect".

Omarion would also like to be respected and recognised by the industry; in particular the way the King Of Pop, Michael Jackson, was during his primal years. "I want to be respected as an entertainer the way he was", Omarion explains. "That’s really what I mean more than anything cause he has inspired so many".

It can, however, be safely said the talent has already been a source of inspiration for many: from lead singer of teenage R&B outfit B2K, to independent and mature solo artist. Omarion reveals that during his time with B2K, "I learnt everything that got me prepared for where I’m at today. It helped me understand what it means to be on stage and performing, but it also helped me learn camaraderie, teamwork and all that good stuff".

With several divas coming strong in 2009 the gentlemen have got to bring it too... two of those gentlemen are Omarion and Sammie!

While both of these young men have been featured on a number of collaborative efforts, including Soulja Boy’s recent single “Kiss Me Through The Phone,” it has been at least three years since they’ve released independent projects.

Now you may ask why we’re putting the two together. The honest truth is that they’re both in very similar situations. Both have new record deals (Omarion with Timbaland’s Mosley Music and Sammie on his own label Empire Entertainment), new looks (Omarion cut his long held braids in 2008 while Sammie has matured his look and style) and are working on their third albums.

With that said, looking deeper into Omarion’s as-yet-untitled third studio album and first away from the label that launched his career with B2K it is safe to say that O has a whole lot more competition since he rocked the charts with “Touch” and “O” in 2005. It seems that Omarion is aware and is stepping up his game.

Even though details are sketchy when it comes to those collaborating with the actor/singer, Timbaland and Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins have been linked to the album.

Omarion Opens Up About New Boss Timbaland -- And Why It Was Time To Cut Off His Hair
'He not just a producer, he's a visionary,' O says of Tim.
By Shaheem Reid

Omarion's life is getting a lot lighter. He's cut his long hair, left an unhappy record-label situation and it looks like the door is closed on B2K for good.

"I feel negativity is not to be paid attention to," he said a couple of days ago while at a photo shoot. "Unless it's something that happened with Chris. When it gets that serious, it's time to speak out."

O is talking about the recent child-molestation allegations brought against his manger and friend Chris Stokes by former B2K member Raz-B. Raz later retracted his charges, but the sting seems to still be with Omarion.

"Really, my thing is, I talked to the cats, and it's sad what people will do when they're in the position of 'don't have,' " the singer said of his onetime group members Raz, Fizz and J-Boog. "People will say, 'Omarion is still out there and in the public. Omarion is still successful.' But they don't sit back and think, 'Why is Omarion able to get this opportunity? Why are they not getting this opportunity?' Fizz put a single out. They are a product of their karma. I can't talk in detail about what was done [on their parts], but a lot of wrongdoing was done. A lot of false statements — off-the-wall, disrespectful things. Not even on a dislike level. On a hurtful level.

"I used to rock with them dudes, and now when I see them, it's not like that," he added. "It's gotta be like, I look at you funny or you look at me funny. If somebody has done something to disrespect you as a man, I feel like I have to protect myself. So now when I see them, after everything that happened, how do I be nice? How do I be cool? I'm a spiritual dude, and a part of me is forgiving. But there is so much that has been done, you get tired of that. This whole next album, you'll see a whole new Omarion."

Omarion On Bow Wow's BET Blowup ++
19 Dec 2007 | Trice | Cat: Articles | 13 Comments
'We Want Our Respect As Men'

Omarion says you shouldn't try to clown him and his partner, Bow Wow.

Everyone is talking about leaked footage from an interview Omarion and Bow did recently for BET's "The Black Carpet." (The uproar was also captured by the cameras following Bow and O for the BET reality series "Road to Platinum.") Bow Wow got upset, ended the interview and walked off with his friend when he felt interviewer Touré was being too much of jokester with the questions.

"Do you take moves from people like Chris Brown?" he asked O. He also pointed out that Lil Wayne's chain is bigger than Bow Wow's. That pretty much sparked it up.

"Don't ask no other disrespectful, stupid-ass questions," Bow said before he got up.

A source close to the "Black Carpet" shoot said the Bow Wow and Omarion interview was a planned prank all along that happened over the summer and that BET informed the duo's label reps of the proposed mischief beforehand. The source also said that the label didn't tell Bow and O because it was supposed to be for a good-natured, "Punk'd"-style show called "Hell Interview." A rep from Sony Music was unable to be reached.

Bow Wow & Omarion 'Face Off' ++

Bow Wow & Omarion 'Face Off'
Sunday, December 9th 2007, 4:00 AM

Rappers and R&B stars need each other.

The emcees know they can score a bigger radio hit if they add the sweetening of a singer. And even the most suburban tunesmith can feign a connection to the street if he hangs out, however fleetingly, with a homeboy.

The always-savvy Jay-Z knew this when he hooked up with R. Kelly for a joint album five years ago - even if theirs ended up sounding forced and listless. Just the high-concept pitch and name power helped it move over a million disks.

That may explain why rapper Bow Wow and singer Omarion recently decided to lift Jay's idea for their "Face Off" CD, which refigures its formula for the teen set.

It isn't the first time these two swoon-worthy young men have joined forces. In 2005, Omarion crooned on Bow Wow's "Let Me Hold You," which yielded the first solo Top 10 hit for each of them. The pair also doubled their pleasure, and solidified their fan base, by participating in the teen-dream road show known all too accurately as the "Scream Tour."

Bow Wow Grows Into His Show-Biz Career ++
08 Dec 2007 | Shenelle | Cat: Articles | 3 Comments
We have a new Bow Wow article which talks about his long list of credits in recording, TV, and movies. The article mentions a little something something about Face Off -- so I decided to just post that part of it.

-----------------------------

His latest effort is Face Off, a tag-team LP recorded with his friend, R&B singer and former B2K member Omarion. The two had previously enjoyed success as tour and duet partners, and decided to evolve their collaboration -- a favorite of female audiences, in particular -- into a full-fledged recording.

"Honestly, the idea for the album really came from the fans," says Moss. "Being that me and O have done so well with each other -- from being on the "Scream" tours together to "Let Me Hold You" going No. 1 -- it was kind of a no-brainer. We both cater to the same audience, which is girls. So we felt it was only right that we hooked up and did something major for our fans."

Face Off -- which hits stories on Tuesday -- came together fairly quickly. Recording was done just a few months ago and the album -- a playful, poppy merger of hip-hop brio and bedroom R&B -- has already spawned two radio singles, "Girlfriend" and "Hey Baby."

Bow Wow, Omarion Talk Relationship Rumors — With Rihanna, Ciara — And Their Friendship
21 Aug 2007 | Aida | Cat: Articles | 0 Comments
NEW YORK — Does Bow Wow want to be one of the Hottest MCs in the Game? Sure. Is Omarion interested in living up to his potential as an R&B superstar? No doubt. But what do the guys think about their exes or rumored girlfriends? The duo say they're definitely not sweating the ladies.

While the two friends were in town last week recording their December 4 joint LP, Face Off, they enjoyed some loud laughs when asked about their love lives — both current and defunct.

First it was Bow, answering the question about Ciara, the muse for his hit record "Outta My System" (see "Bow Wow Can't Get His Mind Off An Ex (Ciara?) In New Single"). Of course he's seen the video for her "Can't Let Him Go" and heard the talk that she is supposedly dating 50 Cent now (see "Ciara Says She And 50 Cent Are Not An Item"). So is he salty that Fif may be getting with his ex-girl?

"Not at all," he insisted. He also said he's fine with her going out with anybody she wants to.

"Once you solidified what's gonna happen, let them live life," Bow said. "That's what life is all about. She's gonna go 'head and see other guys as she should, 'cause please believe, I'm definitely gonna get mine in. That's just how the cookie crumbles. I've been on these Web sites [in pictures] with about four [rumored girlfriends]. I'm living my life and having fun. It is what it is."

One of the ladies Bow has been linked to is Reverend Run's youngest daughter, Angela Simmons. Photos of the two at various events have been all over the Web.

"Yeah, what's up with Ang?" Omarion chuckled.

SOHH Soulful Exclusive: R. Kelly Gives Bow Wow & Omarion Thumbs Up On Collabo Album

With their collaborative album Face Off due out this December, SOHH caught up with rap heart throb Bow Wow and R&B sensation Omarion to address the inevitable comparisons to R. Kelly and Jay-Z's Best of Both Worlds project.

The partnership between hip-hop and R&B is nothing new, but when it comes to rapper/singer joint ventures there aren't any more storied than the one between Kells and Hov. Despite the Best of Both World's legacy, Omarion and Bow Wow are already doing their best to distance Face Off from the project that preceded it.

"We definitely respect Jay-Z and R. Kelly because I would say they have influenced not even just us, but the game," Omarion told SOHH. "But one thing that we want people to understand is that they [are] who they are and Bow and O is who [we] are. And what we're going to bring to the table is totally different than what they brought to the table."

Bow Wow Says His Face Off With Omarion Will Mean A 'Whole Bunch Of #1 Records' ++
31 Oct 2007 | Aida | Cat: Articles | 0 Comments
Duo just filmed video for 'Girlfriend'; joint tour also in the works.

Two things are clear about Bow Wow these days. First off, he's far from being lil' anymore. And second, he's not afraid to talk big either. Both points are made clear on Face Off, the rapper's upcoming collaborative project with Omarion, which is set to be released December 11 on Columbia.

Bow was pretty confident when he spoke to MTV News recently about the album's first two songs, the buzz track "Hood Star" and the upcoming lead single, "Girlfriend."

" 'Hood Star' is really just saying that we here to stay," he explained. "Whatever these other rappers talking about and they ain't living it, we living it. When I tell people I got a Phantom and I got a [Ferrari] F40 in the garage, I'm living it. That's the truth — you can bring the cameras to my crib. I don't rent nothing, I don't rent jewelry. ... It's just really all about living the lifestyle. ... That's what's really poppin'. I'm good with the poppin', everybody knows that. Even with [2005's] 'Fresh Azimiz.' I'm just good with that. But this is way better, it's smashing 'Fresh Azimiz.'

"['Girlfriend' is] probably gonna be one of the biggest records that I've ever done in my career," he added.

Omarion Tests His Rap Skills In New Movie

But for fans who were surprised to see him get on the mic, the R&B heartthrob tells BET.com that it wasn't that unusual for him.

"I was a rapper before I was a singer. A lot of people don't know that," he reveals, adding that he went by the same one-word moniker fans know him by today. "If you really think about it, 'Omarion' is not an R&B name. It's not even my real name. (His real name is Omari.)

Despite getting the chance to flex his rhyme skills, Omarion says that fans need not worry that he'll leave R&B behind.

BALLERSTATUS: Bow Wow, Omarion Collabo Project Gets Title, Release Date
29 Sep 2007 | Aida | Cat: Articles | 0 Comments
New details of the top secret collaborative album between Bow Wow and Omarion have emerged recently.

First off, the duo have revealed that the album's title will be Face Off, and has a tentative release of December.

So far, the group has leaked the first track from the album called "Hood Star," in which Bow Wow proclaims in its intro, "This what the world been waiting on." The leaked song is a braggadocios song about spending money, buying drinks at the bar and the life of a young, successful musician.

While further details remain under wraps, the new album marks the culmination of a joint collaborative process dating back to 2005, when Omarion's vocal contributions to "Let Me Hold You," the first single from Bow Wow's fourth album, Wanted, peaked at no. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Bow Wow his first-ever Top 10 single and Omarion his first Top 10 as a solo artist.

Lil Mo Crushes On Omarion?
06 Sep 2007 | Shenelle | Cat: Articles | 0 Comments
Hey Everyone! I came across this article on R&B singer, Lil Mo that I thought I should share with you all. Lil Mo talks to Jawn Murray in the "BV Buzz" about a song on her album about Omarion. The singer also reveals that she and her husband are getting a divorce again.

I'm only going to post the parts about Omarion. To read the full article, CLICK HERE.

• • • • • • • • • • • • • •

A pending marriage isn't the only thing new in Mo's life. The singer released her junior album, 'Pain & Paper,' on her own label Honeychild Entertainment (in partnership with DrakeWeb Music Group/Koch). "I took it there on this album from top to bottom. I opened up and let go of a lot. It's maturity and it's on my own label," she said about the CD.

The project was lead by the single 'Sumtimes I,' featuring Jim Jones, in addition to a remake of the Shirley Murdock classic, 'Husband.' The album also has a track called 'Youngin' that features Da Brat, which some have suggested was inspired by a crush Mo had on singer Omarion.

"It's not totally about him," she laughed sheepishly, "but it can be! It's the older woman, younger man syndrome that is the new epidemic. I've seen Omarion from the age of 15 until now. He has grown up! I see him totally different as a man! I consider him my lil brother so I won't cross that line, but the new thing we say 'round my parts is, "That's that O right there!" He's your younger man for your mature situation and he helped Stella get her groove back, believe that!"

Fort Knox Welcomes R&B Artists ++

FORT KNOX — Fort Knox has offered concerts that have been a little bit country and concerts that have been little bit rock ’n’ roll. For the first time, the post will stage a concert that’s a little bit rhythm and blues.

R&B singers Keith Sweat and Omarion will perform Saturday at Godman Army Airfield as part of the Knox Urban Jam 2007. This is the first R&B concert ever held there. It is part of the Army Concert Tour, which brings music acts to military installations.

Ryan Brus, a public information officer for Fort Knox, said organizers received several requests from people on post and in the community for a show in the R&B genre. It worked out so they could bring these performers to Fort Knox, he said.

“The stars aligned, so to speak,” he said.

Sweat released his debut album, “Make It Last Forever,” in 1987, which sold more than 3 million copies, according to VH1.com. His latest album, “Welcome to the Sweat Hotel,” was released in 2006.

Omarion is former lead singer of R&B group B2K. He debuted as a solo artist in 2005 with “O” and released an album in 2006, entitled “21.”

Bone Crusher, Silk and Carmen Chiles are the supporting acts for the concert, which opens at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

IF YOU GO . . . .

The concert begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Godman Army Airfield at Fort Knox. Tickets at the door will cost $30. Advance tickets available from knoxmwr.com, Ticketmaster and Fort Knox ITR cost $25.

Omarion & Bow Tell How They Almost Lost Their "GIRLFRIEND" ++
27 Nov 2007 | Shenelle | Cat: Articles | 0 Comments
With Omarion and Bow Wow's current single "Girlfriend" gaining heavy airplay on Urban radio charts, the duo said that they almost didn't put the song on their album, Face Off.

Omarion recently revealed to us how the record was left on the back burner. "Actually, I didn't even really want to record the song. It was a whole bunch of records we had and it was the pile when we hear the record 'We wanna do it now' then it's the other pile 'Eh. It's okay, we'll wait, we'll go back to it' and that record was actually in that pile 'We'll wait, we'll go to it.'"

As far as hitting the road to support the album, Omarion and Bow plan to sell out arenas next summer. "Next year we're definitely linking up for the Face Off Tour. We're going to do our arena tour being that, me and O, every time we tour, we tour in the summer. Summer's our time."

Until then, the two will release their first collaborative effort Face Off on December 11th.

YouthAIDS, Levi's and BET's Rap It-Up Campaign Kick Off 2007 'Kick Me' Campaign to Raise HIV/AIDS Awareness at High Schools, Colleges and Universities Across the Country

Celebrity Spokespeople to Drive Young People to Do Something Radical and Simple to Fight the Spread of HIV/AIDS

WASHINGTON, Nov. 20 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Look out for the Kick Me sign. It's back on the backs of college students around the nation. YouthAIDS, an action-based initiative implemented by Population Services International (PSI), today announced the launch of the 2007 'Kick Me' campaign. The 'Kick Me' program takes the childish prank and turns it into a powerful tool to communicate facts, start dialogue and change behavior among HIV/AIDS' most at risk group.

This national, grassroots, student-led campaign to increase awareness of HIV/AIDS among youth in the U.S., aims to reduce infection-related stigma and opening a constructive dialogue among young people. The "Kick Me" campaign is based on the old prank of someone sticking a Kick Me sign on another's back without their knowledge -- just like 90% of those infected HIV/AIDS may not know they are carrying HIV.

"With the help of celebrities like Kat DeLuna and Omarion and partners like Levi's and BET's Rap It-Up campaign, we're turning a practical joke into a practical lesson. DUB Magazine Features: Omarion ++

dub1.jpg“At 4 o’clock I’m driving home,” Omarion sings into the phone, easily switching into performance mode as he hums notes and vibrato tones in his song voice. “Midnight,” a song from his second album, 21 (Sony, 2006), contains a verse about driving that pops into his head “It’s pretty bad; I’m at this woman’s house and I should have been home at 4 o’clock,” Omarion explains sheepishly. “It’s about a man doing wrong. ”It’s quite a transition for Omarion, who at a young age was in commercials for Kellogg’s Corn Pops and McDonald’s, and grew up in the spotlight, first as the lead singer of the boy band B2K, then as a break-out solo artist and actor. Omarion has grown up, and singing about a grown-man’s guilt is evidence of an emerging theme to his music never before explored.

Artist of the Month: Bow Wow & Omarion
Published March 10, 2008

Since hitting the road as co-headliners on BET's standing-room-only SRO "Scream Tour IV Presents: The Heart Throb Tour," March's Artist of the Month Bow Wow and Omarion have formed a close bond, each artist achieving tremendous individual success. Now you can download their new video "Hey Baby (Jump Off)" from Xbox LIVE® Marketplace.

The pair's new album Face Off marks the culmination of a joint collaborative process dating back to 2005, when Omarion's vocal contributions to "Let Me Hold You," the first single from Bow Wow's fourth album Wanted, peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Bow Wow his first-ever Top 10 single and Omarion his first Top 10 as a solo artist.

Last night, the prosperous "Up Close & Personal Tour" which features Chris Brown, Bow Wow, Soulja Boy and Lil Mama -- made a stop at New York City's, Madison Square Garden. I heard that the show was amazing, and there were even a few surprise guests along the way.

MTV News wrote an article about the show, highlighting special moments and appearances which included Diddy, G-Unit's Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, 50 Cent, Juelz Santana and of course our very own Omarion. I'm only going to post the small part about O. Check it out below.

Medleys of "Let Me Hold You," "Like You" and "Outta My System" followed. The Ohio native then left the stage and gave way to an unannounced mini set by his Face Off partner Omarion. The self-proclaimed "King of Dance" came out to "Entourage" and transitioned into "Touch."

After a dance breakdown, Bow yelled, "Face Off time!" from offstage. The duo went into "Girlfriend" and took off their shirts for "Hey Baby."

Omarion
By Orielle Miranda

Most of us came to know him as the front man for B2K, but Omarion’s journey towards super stardom began when he first started singing and dancing at the age of 5. These days you wouldn’t recognize the suave crooner from the playful toddler in the McDonald's & Kellogg's commercials his career began with. About to embark on the “Get Served” tour with Marques Houston and Avant, I had the chance to catch up with Omarion and get to know a little more about the man, and his passion for his art.

Today, 22 years old, Omarion is a committed and dedicated young man focused on his work and thankful for the opportunities he has been blessed with. Growing up in the public eye is no easy task yet rather than focus on the difficult moments, Omarion is quick to recognize the positives. “I feel blessed” he says “I really think its great and I love the experiences I’ve had”. It is this humility that keeps him working hard towards achieving greater success.
